But when that moment occurs in the first-rate revival of Paula Vogel’s “How I Learned to Drive,” which opened on Monday night at the Second Stage Theater, it’s unlikely that you’ll feel good at all. How many variations on that scene have you experienced at the theater or the movies? It’s one of the great feel-good clichés of storytelling. And her face lights up like candles on a birthday cake. The guy finally utters those three little words that the girl has needed to hear. ![]()
